The place
“Wonderful location with views over the village of Mulazzo, charming and clean room, excellent restaurant and superb service, all perfectly run by a wonderful family.”

Family paella, Lunigiana flavours and a terrace overlooking the village: El Caracol is a story of cooking and hospitality that has continued for three generations.

Antonio came from Galicia, Elsa from Mulazzo. From that meeting El Caracol was born: a cuisine that blends Spanish tradition and Lunigiana flavours, carried forward to this day with the same care by our family. The paella, the Polpo alla Gallega, the testaroli — different dishes, one single story.
Three generations of the same family, in the kitchen, the dining room and hospitality

Since 1977 El Caracol has brought to the table a story made of hospitality, handed-down recipes and flavours that unite Spanish identity and local tradition. Our paella is the symbol of this story, to be experienced in an authentic setting overlooking the valley.

Eight rooms overlooking Mulazzo, surrounded by silence, nature and a slower pace. A simple and genuine stay, to be rounded off with dinner at the restaurant and the pleasure of lingering without rush.

Among the reviews the same elements come up again and again: the paella, the view over Mulazzo, the family welcome and the option to stay the night. This is where the El Caracol experience begins.

The loyalty
“Excellent food, superb service. The rooms are clean and the sleep is great. This is the second year I've come back and I'd recommend El Caracol to anyone looking for a few days off from the daily grind.”

Our kitchen was the subject of a feature aired on Italia 1, dedicated to the paella and the connection with the local area. A recognition that makes us proud and that speaks of who we have always been.
